“Annie-B Parson’s exacting, exultant and altogether astonishing choreography...”
“But perhaps the main joy is transmitted through Annie-B Parson’s choreography — a virtuosic simplicity that keeps everyone, musician or otherwise, in a joyous nonstop movement from start to finish.”
“Annie-B Parson’s vividly simple choreography allows these songs to speak to each other more fluently than ever before; one part Pina Bausch and one part Jeanne Dielman, the movements insist upon the sheer pleasure of watching people.”
“Every now and again you, you’re at a show that you realise, then and there, will be spoken of as one of the greatest its attendees ever saw... About six songs into David Byrne’s American Utopia, choreographed with imaginative brilliance by Annie-B Parson, you realise that this is one of those shows.”

Written by David Byrne, Here Lies Love is a groundbreaking musical about former Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos’s rise to power and subsequent fall at the hands of the Philippine People Power Revolution. The show had runs at The Public Theater, The National/London, and on Broadway.
“Annie-B Parson, an outsider whose work on the show is being universally acclaimed…”
“…its superb choreographer, Annie-B Parson…”
“…the most expressive element in ‘Here Lies Love’… is the choreography by Annie-B Parson. ”
“Parson’s choreography is never virtuosic in a showy, overly presentational Broadway fashion. It’s all beautifully understated.”
“The show’s superb choreography is by Annie-B Parson…”

“a lyrical, avant garde creation, like a long lamentation, bare in its staging and emotions… a penetrating production, lean, charged and fresh.” The Gaurdian
